From Montreal, Canada we are blessed with KAYTRANADA, fairly new on the scene but no stranger to outstanding production and heavy mixing. This is someone I'm seriously feeling at the moment, having recently released his first EP 'KAYTRA TODO' on HW&W Recordings, and with already a huge fan base of 33,000 followers on Soundcloud and millions of views on Youtube, I think it's safe to say this boy gun' be BIG.
His main influences; Disco, Hip-Hop, House, and R&B. As of this year he has made a name for himself through producing R&B influenced bootleg remixes, and he's not afraid to tamper with tunes from RnB & HipHop HONCHOS such as Janet Jackson, Missy Elliot, TLC, Danny Brown, and Teedra Moses.

Pearce - a big part of the 'making' of this musical roster; almost a
year ago a friend shared his track 'What I Might Do' with me on youtube, although a bad quality, shortened little sneak preview of this infectious tune with only
149 views, but nonetheless I played it over and over again, unbeknown
that this track would be BIG, but 9 months down the line it's number
one on the Beatport Deep House chart, and hearing it on Funktion
1 sound systems in clubs, being played and loved by the
likes of Heidi, Solomon, David August, Danny Daze and Pete
Tong, surely that amount of attention could go to anyones head? But whilst
at 'Wolfstock presents: Purp & Soul Showcase at The Horse &
Groom' last week, I got the chance to talk to Ben Pearce and
was pleasantly surprised that he doesn't do shots.. :) but more so he seemed so humble
considering his stratospheric rise, his close network / family that
Purp & Soul have created made me really respect the presence that
I was in and I take my hat of to this group of young Mancunians, they
are truly playing the game right! I'm looking forward to seeing more
from Ben Pearce and the rest of the Purp & Soul Crew.
